5 Must Have Fall Makeup Items

Fall is an amazing time of the year! For many of us, this means transitioning from shorts and sandals into flannels, leggings, and boots! As the leaves change colors to gold, burnt orange, warm brown, and burgundy, why shouldn’t our makeup as well to complement these amazing natural colors? These colors are perfect whether you’re going for a natural day look or a night out look, or even transitioning between these looks. Below, we have compiled a list of five fall makeup item must-haves to complement your perfect fall fashion looks.

1. Eyeshadow:

One of the most important items to get the perfect fall look is eyeshadow! Though there are tons out there, try and look for ones that have golds, browns, ambers, and reds or nudes in them. If you are attempting a bold look, keep an eye out for foil or shimmery colors. Urban Decay’s Naked series are some of the best palettes to invest in because they are very well pigmented. If you are looking for something cheaper, Revolution’s Iconic series are very similar to Urban Decays and only $7!! They’re very well pigmented and have several matte and shimmery colors that you can use for a day look and add on the shimmer colors for a night out! screen-shot-2016-11-23-at-3-27-11-pm

Also check out BH cosmetic’s Foil Eyes. I just bought this palette and I absolutely love it! It is currently on sale for $12 on the BHcosmetics website and it is super pigmented and easy to apply. The oranges and yellows of this palette are some of my favorites to use for my fall look. The first two and last three rows of this palettes are ideal for an amazing fall look! However, there are other colors if you want to try a dramatic look as well!

2. Matte Lipstick:

No look is complete without the perfect lipstick! A matte lipstick such as red, burnt brown, nudes, and pink will go with any look whether you’re going for a bold, dramatic look, or a subtle day look. One of my favorites is the screen-shot-2016-11-24-at-9-28-10-amMake Up For Ever Artist Rouge in M-402 ($22 at Sephora). This is a beautiful red lipstick built for precision and gives a smooth and perfect application. This is great if you are going for a matte eyes look and want bold lips to complement that look. This is also perfect whether you are going for a daytime or nighttime look! Another one of my favorites is Noyah Lipstick in Currant News. This is a beautiful plump color with a mauve undertone. It is smooth application and leaves my lips feeling soft. It also looks beautiful with with brownish- gold eyeshadows.

NYX’s ombre lip duos are also a great additions to your make up collection. There are several styles, most of which
look really nice as fall colors!

3. Mascara:

Having a bold and voluminous mascara can really accentuate your eyes. IT Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara is fantastic! It makes your eyelashes feel fuller and is easy to apply. It takes a second or two to dry but looks amazing. Also check out Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara is really nice too for easy application and longer lashes! If you’re looking for something a bit cheaper, try out Covergirl Plumpify BlastPro mascara. It dries quickly, doesn’t clump, and spreads your lashes out and makes them look thicker!

4. Primer

In terms of primer, I only have one suggestion: Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer.  I am usually always looking for cheaper alternatives but I absolutely love this primer. I tend to drier skin during the fall and winter, which is frustrating to deal with in the morning. However, ever since I bought this primer, I have had no issues with putting on makeup in the morning or my skin looking dry. If you’re looking to invest in a good primer that will last you, this is it!

5. Stick Foundation

Stick foundations have become all the rage these days– for good reason picmonkey-collagetoo! I have found that they don’t add a gloss or shine to your face and look very natural. They are also very easy to apply and blend. They also don’t look cakey! I usually have a really hard time finding a good shade for my skin tone but Makeup Forever’s Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation is amazing. It is easy to blend, feels amazing on my skin, and with their large range of tones, choosing the perfect one was really easy! I also really like Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation. This one has an amazing range of tones too so it is perfect for finding one that fits you!

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, check out Maybelline FitMe Shine-Free Stick Foundation. It looks really nice and has a smooth application also!
